James Earl Jones Gets Our Laketime Achievement Award, Too

I want to take a few here to pay homage to James Earl Jones. Jones was presented with SAG’s 45th Annual Life Achievement Award last night at the SAG awards. Without JEJ, my childhood would have been bankrupt. No Darth Vader? No King Jaffe Joffer? No carrying Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams? That is a childhood I don’t even want to contemplate.
When I get married, buried, whatever, I want this man’s voice doing the service. I don’t care if it’s a voiceover crappily strung together from his ridiculous filmography of work — that would still be better than what anybody else could do. I love Morgan Freeman, but James Earl Jones is the coldest narrator of all time. He’s just the man. He can even make the alphabet riveting. Check it out…
