Charles Barkley’s “Junk-In-The-Trunk Club”
Gotta love TNT’s Inside the NBA, especially with Chris Webber in the house… The whole crew went on a “fishing trip” to Brazil, where they met up with the Hornets’ Chris Paul, as well as Lil Wayne, Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush… That’s when Charles Barkley made a wisecrack about the size of Kardashian’s booty. Then they took a commercial break. When they returned, Kenny “The Jet” Smith labeled this image “the junk-in-the-trunk club”… I really do think Chuck has the smallest ass in that picture. Not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with some junk in the trunk.
Ron Artest Calls Brandon Roy, Not Kobe, “The Best”
Tonight during an Inside the NBA TNT interview with Craig “Is He Really Wearing That?” Sager, Ron Artest made one of the most outlandish statements I’ve heard come out of even his mouth. Artest said Brandon Roy was “the best” player he has ever played against. When Sager specifically reminded Ron-Ron about two guys named LeBron and Kobe, Ron reiterated that B-Roy was definitely the best player he had ever gone head to head with. Well, he and Mike Chaffway or Chatway (sp? couldn’t even find him at all on Google), some dude from Queensbridge who went to jail. Real [...]
Jazz-Lakers Series Recap: Ariza, Brown, Odom Shine
The “Prop 8 Series” is over. I predicted a sweep, which was one Deron Williams running, sideways jumper with only second remaining away from happening. But the Lakers didn’t sweep the Jazz. Why? Two reasons: A.) Because the Lakers were bored and overconfident; B.) Jerry Sloan’s Jazz have a lot of fight in them. I hate the Jazz like I do blaring country music, but I have to give credit where credit is due. While our Lakers wait for this Blazers-Rockets series to end, here are my thoughts on the 4-1 series victory over the Jazz… Lamar Odom, Series MVP [...]
Laker Links: Waiting For Round Two
This is what I hate about the playoffs — the waiting game. Oh well, it’s good for the Lakers. Especially considering the health of Andrew Bynum, Luke Walton and Trevor Ariza. Kobe Bryant? He’s fine. Just whoever is doing their Wolverine impersonation on the Jazz needs to cut their damn fingernails. Always hated that as a player. Lakers Set To “Stroll” Through Playoffs?
Luke Walton Sidelined Indefinitely With Ankle Injury
Luke Walton could be sidelined for the entire postseason with a torn ligament in his ankle. From The Associated Press: The Los Angeles Lakers’ forward sprained his ankle in Saturday night’s Game 3 at Utah. He had an MRI this morning, which revealed the partial tear of the deltoid ligament. Walton, a reserve, is out indefinitely and will be re-evaluated in one week. Ouch. This is not good. I’m a big Luke Walton fan. I think he is to off-the-bench passing and unselfishness what Jeff Foster and Paul Milsap are to off-the-bench rebounding. This should result in more burn for [...]
Lakers Fan Mario Lopez Spoofed In 28 Days Slater
I know Mario Lopez is a big Lakers fan, but this is effin’ hilarious. Dude looks just like Mario as A.C. Slater. I hope they really do move forward with this Days 28 Slater series. Genius!
PPG: Kobe Hits Jazz With Mamba Strike
So, that Kobe Bryant Black Mamba strike I promised came a game late. Sue me! Honestly, though, 38 points doesn’t tell the whole story. Not at all. I had to look down at my hands a couple times to make sure I wasn’t holding a controller. KB24 was absolutely dominant tonight. He scored the Lakers first 11 points and shot lights out from the field despite taking many very difficult shots against solid Jazz defense. Truly incredible. He scored in bunches and imposed his will on the game. No smiles, just scowls. Strictly business, baby. No. 24 has now given [...]
24 first-half points for Kobe Bryant. I knew a Black Mamba strike was coming, but I was just a bit early in my prediction. Been busy covering the draft all day, but I will be back tonight with the Purple Post Game. From what I saw, the Lakers looked good offensively, but still couldn’t stop Deron Williams. But in the highlights Kobe looks unstoppable. Can he go for 40 tonight? 50? Need Bynum to play a bigger role, though. More to come…
