Ron Artest Calls Brandon Roy, Not Kobe, “The Best”

Tonight during an Inside the NBA TNT interview with Craig “Is He Really Wearing That?” Sager, Ron Artest made one of the most outlandish statements I’ve heard come out of even his mouth. Artest said Brandon Roy was “the best” player he has ever played against. When Sager specifically reminded Ron-Ron about two guys named LeBron and Kobe, Ron reiterated that B-Roy was definitely the best player he had ever gone head to head with. Well, he and Mike Chaffway or Chatway (sp? couldn’t even find him at all on Google), some dude from Queensbridge who went to jail.

Real smart, Ron. Give Kobe Braynt, the best and most cutthroat player in the world, some serious bulletin board material right before you have to guard him in a best-of-seven series. If you manage to get by him, then you have to deal with Carmelo Anthony. If you get by Melo? NBA player No. 1B — LeBron James.

Artest is going to have to change his nickname from “Tru Warier” to “Tru Idiot.” I can’t wait until the Black Mamba and his Lakers get to let loose on that fool. Oh, and take Chuck’s advice, Ron; do something with that nappy mess on top of your head. Later, Mamba bait.

I wouldn’t throw Roy in with Kobe and LeBron right now, but in a couple years you’ll see, Roy does the little things to help his team win

Brandon Roy is not better than Kobe or Lebron but he is definitely in the conversation. Artest is right about one thing; Brandon is the genuine article.

A typical laker fanboy response to anything that is remotely anti-kobe. Ron-Ron says things like this all the time. It’s not even worth the 45 belabored minutes it took to blog about it. Plus, in a few years, what Ron-Ron said is going to be arguable. B-Roy is no joke and neither is his boy, Mike, from back in the day. lulz.
