After a huge win in a well-fought series, one of my favorite things is to watch the fans that talked a big game make comments regarding their own team’s miserable failure.  I don’t chime in and say anything, but I have to admit I watch what they say and take great joy in it. Couldn’t have asked for a better first half, Lakers fan. Rapid-fire thoughts… Pau Gasol has been downright nasty. 11 points, 12 rebounds. Passive Pau has morphed into Kung Pau. Imagine Megan Fox having a one-night stand with Jonah Hill. Now imagine her doing it three times in 10 days. That describes the Lakers’ performance in this second-round series against the Rockets. The only thing worse than the talent discrepancy the Lakers hold over the Rockets is the “gives a sh**” discrepancy the Rockets hold over the Lakers. Some players are just mean-looking. After watching quite a few playoff games recently, I realized that there are some who definitely stand out as always looking mad at the world. You know the Lakers are handin’ the Rockets an ass whoopin’ when the fans bypass the “we want tacos” chant and go straight to this… It worked, because D.J. Mbenga got in the game. Hell, Mbenga even scored. Too bad Ron Artest was on the pine. That would be the best on-court star-scrub wrestling match since Dennis Rodman and Frank Brickowski battled back in ’96.
