League Rescinds Second Technical on Andrew Bynum

You could see this coming from a mile away. Now that David Stern has given his officials license to go Joey Crawford whenever they see fit, we’re seeing more unwarranted technicals being called. At least twice this year the Lakers have been hit with untimely techs.

Who can forget the one that was called on Lamar Odom during a crucial moment late in a loss to the Suns? On Sunday, Andrew Bynum was hit with twin techs the second of which seemed to come all too quickly and without reason.

Seeing the error in Leon Woods’ ways, the league has rescinded the second technical foul called against Bynum. While Drew’s ejection didn’t affect the outcome, it did cost Bynum the final quarter of his most effective game to date.

While Bynum earned the first of the two T’s as he impeded Woods, the second came after Bynum simply asked “are you serious”. I’m sure Woods has heard much worse in his years of officiating so it is shocking those three simply words would merit an ejection. While the league did agree this is an issue Stern must get under wraps come playoff time.
