As the Lakers were pouring it on the Pistons in the third quarter, Kobe Bryant was putting himself in even more rarified air. Bryant needed only 15 points coming into tonight’s tilt to surpass Dominique Wilkins for 10th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Mission accomplished! Lakers are Bored with Regular Season
The Los Angeles Lakers are bored. The regular season just doesn’t excite them anymore. Needless to say, the Memphis Grizzlies in January just don’t get the same respect as the Boston Celtics in June. It’s just that simple. This team could care less about the regular season. It happens when you make three straight trips to the Finals. It happens when you eat steak every night. Still hungover from their New Year’s celebrations, the Lakers offered up another putrid performance in a lopsided loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Yet another loss to a sub .500 team.
