Derrick Caracter Gets Done Dirty

Know this. The NBA lockout has no heart. Those padlocks are keeping a lot of guy out of the game but they could also keep a few more out of the league…for good.

Derrick Caracter is among those that toil in the neither regions of professional hoops. The second round pick finished up a rookie campaign with the Lakers were he made more of an impression in a New Orleans IHOP than he did on the court.

To be fair Caracter did have some moments that made you realize there is something lurking beneath the surface.

Once a highly touted hoops protégé Caracter is now fighting to stay employed in the NBA once the lockout is lifted.

Like most ballers Caracter is making the rounds on the summer circuit. The hope is that he’ll add new dimensions to his game which could lead to the Lakers picking up his option if and when we resume NBA basketball.

Safe to say guys like Terrence Williams are also hungry to keep those NBA checks coming. It’s also a good bet that Caracter hasn’t been working on his D too much this offseason. If so then it wasn’t anywhere to be found when Williams put Caracter into a poster.

The lockout might be heartless but Williams’ throw down was straight ruthless.  For Caracter’s sake let’s hope our last memories of him aren’t this dunk and that forgetful night in a pancake house.
