NBA Season Could be Determined Today
If you believe David Stern then yesterday was the day that determined the fate of the 2011-12 NBA season. Stern’s idle words of “progress needs to be made or else” might be legit. His drop dead date could just come one day late. Today marks the most important bargaining/screaming session during this now three-month long lockout. Derek Fisher knows the season hangs in the balance today and said as much yesterday. “There will be a lot of pressure on all of us in the room, and we’ll accept that responsibility and go in and see what we can get worked [...]
Agents Try to Dictate NBA Labor Negotiations
Everyday we’re reminded of just exactly why the NBA isn’t nearly the league that the NFL is. From the bad dealings of the owners to the continued negligence of the players, this lockout has never looked likely to end with a happy conclusion. With David Stern’s season slicing guillotine hovering just above the 2011-12 season Friday’s bargaining session was the most important to date. Reports of progress are like rings in LeBron’s collection – there are none. Both sides didn’t seem to make much movement towards making a deal. That doesn’t mean all is lost, at least not yet. Today both the players and owners are back at it bright and early in New York City. Perhaps finally sensing [...]
