Lakers Open Playoffs With Sunday Matinee
You can set your watch to it. Today the NBA announced that the Lakers will open their 2012 title quest this coming Sunday afternoon. That’s pretty standard for the Lake Show as they’re among the biggest draws when it comes to ratings.
While we know when they’ll be playing we’re still waiting to see just who the Lakers will faceoff against.
As it stands both Dallas and Denver are vying for the 6th seed and the right to travel to L.A. this weekend. After tonight we’ll know for sure which team it will be upon the conclusion of the regular season.
Between the two I’d have to say Dallas is a little more favorable matchup for the Lakers. That might sound strange considering the way the Mavs mauled the Lakers last year but this is not the same Mavericks team. Also, having to deal with all the weapons the Nuggets bring to the table without the services of Metta World Peace just doesn’t make for an easy go at it. But it’s the playoffs and there are no easy outs.
