Kobe Bryant has a lot of say when it comes to the Lakers; that’s what happens when you are the face of a franchise for more than a decade. It appears he is going to try and convince Dwight Howard to re-sign with the Lakers this summer — a decision a lot of Lakers fans don’t want see happen now. Kobe does not care for your thoughts, though.

The Black Mamba had a talk with Dave McMenamin of ESPN LA and he some interesting things to say. Here’s what Vino had to say about talking with Dwight Howard about his upcoming free agency:

"“For me, you kind of let him do his due diligence and then move in and talk to him and figure out if this is a place he wants to be. We all want him here. But then that’s when the selling begins. You don’t start the selling process right before he goes and does all this stuff. You want to get the last word. You want to have the final word and the closing argument. I’ll give him a little opening statement, but then I have to make sure I have the final word.”"

I’m not sure how I feel about this. It would be nice for Kobe to get the first and last say. It would be nice for Howard to see what the Lakers/Kobe have to say to him before he goes out and talks to teams, and then have a talk with him so that they are the team that makes the final impression on him.
