The Clippers and Celtics are currently involved in trade talks that would send DeAndre Jordan and picks to the Celtics in return for Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett. However, the Celtics reportedly insist that Bledsoe be part of the deal, while the Clippers are looking to keep him and deal him elsewhere.
By waiting until after July 1, the amount of money the Clippers and Lakers could take on changes, allowing more flexibility in a sign-and-trade deal.
