Metta in the Evening: Kobe's message to Dwight, Kenyon Martin a Laker?

Just one day removed from the busiest day of Lakers news in a long time, the news waves have been far quieter today. We have had a few odds and ends pieces to report for you guys.

LAKERS NEWS

Kenny Boyton Jr. accepted an invitation to play for the Lakers summer league team, as reported in the Miami Herald yesterday.

Kobe Bryant’s message to Dwight Howard in the meeting yesterday was simple: Let me teach you how to be a champion. Bryant’s straight forward, full disclosure was exactly what you’d expect from the Black Mamba.

Chris Broussard tweeted that the Lakers have interest in Kenyon Martin, among other teams. Martin played in just 18 games for the Knicks last season, but was still a productive in those minutes.

Marc Stein says that the Warriors made a real impression on Howard, even though they could only acquire the big man via sign and trade.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

While the basketball news has been limited today, Brad Stevens was hired by the Boston Celtics, a bit of a surprise hire.
