Metta in the Morning: D-Day has arrived

Lakers News

Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know today is the day most reported that Dwight Howard will make his decision. While nothing is official, multiple reports have stated today being the day. But, knowing Dwight, nothing is certain.

The Warriors made news yesterday when rumors flew out that they were attempting to clear cap space in order to offer Dwight Howard a contract. Right now, they only method the Warriors can obtain Howard is via sign-and-trade. Given that the Lakers have all the leverage in that scenario, the Warriors are looking for alternate roots.

In case you missed it yesterday, Earl Clark signed a 2-year, $9 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. While his time in LA was short lived, he was a fan favorite and his production will be missed next year.

In Case You Missed It

Tyreke Evans is reportedly headed to the New Orleans Pelicans in a proposed 3-team deal. The deal sends Evans to New Orleans, Grevis Vasquez to Sacramento and Robin Lopez to Portland, along with other players to make the contracts match.

Did You Know

The Lakers have had two or more players selected to the same All-Star team 47 times. The combinations of West and Baylor, as well as Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson, were selected to play in the same All-Star Game nine times.
