Metta in the Morning: Phil's shot at Dwight, MWP's future

The aftermath of Dwight Howard’s decision is still shaking up the NBA and the Lakers. First, Kobe Bryant took a slight jab at Howard, then Jodie Meeks (or someone posing as him) took a far more direct shot. Now, Phil Jackson joined the crowd, tweeting this and this. The zen master wishing Howard luck as an “Astro” is about as awesome as an insult as there can be.

A couple of articles dove into what went wrong for the Lakers and Dwight Howard this season. First, Yahoo Sports writer Adrian Wojnarowski dropped a bomb when his article revealed the details of the players only meeting held in Memphis mid-season, specifically the battle between Howard and Bryant. We first reported that Metta World Peace likely WOULD NOT be amnestied. Now, Dave McMenamin is reporting the Lakers are likely to use their amnesty provision on him.

Josh Smith shocked some fans when he signed a 4-year, $56 million with the Detroit Pistons over the weekend.

Since 2007-08, only three players have at least 10,000 points, 2,300 assists, and 2,000 rebounds: LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Dwyane Wade.
