With the Lakers, the storylines and highlights of a season are always drama filled in some regard. Take a simple look at last season, where Dwight Howard came and went, Steve Nash joined the madness, Kobe Bryant went down, and in the middle were slews of injuries and “disagreements” between players and coaches.

So it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the Lakers front office is heading up a new Showtime basketball drama. Phil Jackson and fiance Jeanie Buss as well as Kurt Rambis and his wife Linda are all listed as executive producers for a new scripted show, which will be an hour long and be shown on Showtime. The project will be written, directed, and produced by Ron Shelton, who was apart of the crew for “Bull Durham,” “Tin Cup” and “White Men Can’t Jump.” Most recently, he produced the ESPN 30 for 30 “Jordan Rides the Bus” which he interviewed Jackson for.

There’s currently no timetable for an expected premiere, nor do they have any sort of cast or crew. Still, Lakers fans have to be a bit curious about what could come from this new series.
