Stock Watch: Lakers Week One

Opening week taught us many thing about the new-look Lakers of 2013-14. The starters are going to be disappointing, the Bench Mob is going to be exciting, and Nick Young is going to be Nick Young. This team will be a sharp contrast from the squads that contended for the playoffs, let alone the title.

Fans were overly joyous following the spirited win over the Clippers, and rightfully so. Overreactions aside, it very likely could be the Lakers biggest win of the season, and certainly one of the best performances the bench will put out. But fans were brought back to the harsh reality of the Lakers this season with an embarrassing defeat in Golden State, then a late-game collapse against the Spurs at home.

The three-game week produced many a great performance, specifically from the Lakers reserves. In the same week, though, many Lakers left fans disappointed. Let’s take a look at whose stock is up and whose stock has fallen…
