After being evaluated by doctors, Lakers guard Xavier Henry will be out at least another week, when he’ll be evaluated once again by doctors.

Henry was perhaps the brightest spot in the tumultuous Lakers season. After three woefully underwhelming seasons in Memphis and New Orleans, Henry was averaging 10.1 points per game this season, nearly double his previous career high for a season. His game evolved to the point that the Lakers used him as point guard when Steve Nash, Steve Blake, and Jordan Farmar went down with injuries.

Henry joins the trio of Lakers point guards and Kobe Bryant on the bench with injuries. Bryant and Nash’s returns are expected at the end of January, with Blake and Farmar’s returns later.
