Yesterday, Bleacher Report writer Kevin Ding wrote seven reasons why Carmelo Anthony and the Los Angeles Lakers are not a match made in heaven. With the likelihood of superstar LeBron James declaring for free agency dwindling by the day – which is not even to mention the slimmer chances of him leaving Miami – ‘Melo has seemingly turned to priority number one this off-season. With the state of the Lakers season, much will be made about this summer’s sweepstakes over the forthcoming months about the impending landscape change coming this summer.

However, unlike Ding, I do think ‘Melo is worth the dough. The Lakers have cleared out the cap space, prepared for the 2014 summer for YEARS, and have a great opportunity in their hands. Passing on ‘Melo, assuming the opportunity is there, would be a mistake by the Lakers front office. Here’s 7 reasons why….
