In terms of athleticism, Smart is a better athlete than Tyler Ennis overall. Tyler Ennis is known for being a smooth athlete. He has a quick first step and good vertical ability.

Marcus Smart, however, has more of an average first step, but is able to finish lob plays as the recipient. He also has tremendous lateral quickness and strength at the point guard position, a very rare quality to have at the NBA level. It’s easy to be one or the other, but never both. Ennis proves his effectiveness on the basketball floor in other ways, but it’s Smart who has more athletic potential overall.
