It’s a day that Lakers fans probably thought would never come: Mike D’Antoni is officially gone. Whether he was given a fair shake or not, it’s certain that there were better options out there. As is, the Lakers are still a high profile job and will have many high-profile names knocking on their door, resume in hand. While the Lakers are known for making the big-name hire, they could be looking for someone a bit off the beaten path this year. However, no matter who the new coach will be, he’ll be stepping into the bright, bright spotlight of Los Angeles.
The list will be long, but let’s take a look at some of the candidates and any news regarding the possibility of them becoming the new Lakers front man.
