Noah Vonleh, Marcus Smart set to work out for Lakers

The Lakers are set to bring in both Noah Vonleh and Marcus Smart for a workout early next month, according to Jeff Goodman of ESPN.

Both Vonleh and Smart are likely draft picks for the Lakers, with each some of the most often-mocked to the Lakers are drafts across the internet.

Vonleh is a forward/center who played for Indiana University last season, his only year of college ball. He measured off the charts at the draft combine and is seen as a project player. Our own Mike Garcia took a recent look at Vonleh as a possible pick for the Lakers at #7.

Smart is another intriguing prospect, but in a different light. After last season, Smart was thought to be the #1 prospect in college and a sure-thing to declare for the draft. However, he returned to Oklahoma State for his sophomore year and his stock took a hit for a variety of reasons. While still a likely top 10 pick, Smart is no longer in the running for the #1 pick thanks to a better draft class and a draft stock that fell.

Just today, we published a draft profile on Smart, who would be an instant impact player for the Lakers at the point guard position.

Lakerts need to get M.Smart, this guy plays with a high motor, and wont back down.He gnna play hard nose defense, and most of all he is a leader and competitor which would fit perfect with the Mamba..dnt blow it Mitch n Jim this iz ur last chance to get a solid point guard, since David Stern, Gilbert, Mark Cuban, and Jordan stop L.A. from gettn C.P.3…go with MARCUS SMART!!please.

Draft Gordon. LA can just get players like Lowry, Jodie, and Lance so no room for Smart for now

its a win win situation with both i would say smart because he can possible lure melo and other big name FA to play with the lakers but you can also go with vonleh and pair him with jordan hill and gasol if he resigns and improve the post presence

if lakers can get bosh who is similar to vonleh in free agency then theres no need to go after vonleh
