Lottery Workout Wednesday

All of the key players predicted to be available at the Lakers pick are a workout for the Lakers on Wednesday.

Links to player profiles and draft status can be found in the LakeShowLife Draft Guide.

There is a very strong chance for 3-on-3 or 4-on-4 play with those players during the workout. Some players may standout over others individually, but that isn’t an indicator of long-term NBA success.  Kwame Brown did very well in a workout against Tyson Chandler, mostly owing to his extra 20-30lbs. in strength.  Tyson Chandler was the guy who became a defensive anchor, a Team USA Gold medalist, and NBA champion. Kwame Brown led a career of frustration against high expectations.

All of these players are expected to do well at the NBA level.  Each of them have outstanding, specific talents, whether it’s defense, dribble-penetration, perimeter shooting court-vision, paint play, basketball IQ and the size and athleticism to hang with current NBA players.

Hopefully, the Lakers key in on the one thing that makes one player stand-out amongst the rest, and keep it quiet. Otherwise, other teams may draft the same guy before #7 rolls around.

It’ll be interesting to see who the Lakers choose as their favorite among peers.
