With the release of the FanSided Top 50 this morning, Lakers fans certainly had to do a double take in order to find Kobe Bryant, who came in at spot #30.

There’s obviously a lot of uncertainty surround Bryant, who is coming off an extended break on the sideline. While teammates may think he’ll come back like old Kobe, it’s hard to fathom that until you see it.

The good news is that Bryant, according to the FanSided Top 50, is still the 2nd best shooting guard in the lead. The Black Mamba was quite a ways behind James Harden, but finished just one spot ahead of Dwyane Wade.

Here’s a look at the top 10 shooting guards and their overall rank:

While it’s a bit surprising seeing Bryant so low on the list overall, it’s also a bit of a surprise to see him so high on the shooting guards list. In fact, shooting guards in general were not well represented on this ranking, with only four in the top 35. Do you think this is indicative of the way the NBA is trending?

Harden coming in at number one seems like a given. Despite his defensive inefficiencies, the shooting guard position is depleted and filled with aging players, making him an easy choice for #1.

Possibly most surprising on the list is Manu Ginobili coming in 10th. While he’s aging just as much as Wade or Joe Johnson, it’s hard to argue that’s just the 10th best current shooting guard in the league.

You can also see an influx of youth, with Gordon Hayward, Lance Stephenson, and DeMar DeRozan all appearing on the list. With the shooting guard position having less quality players, these three could be stars for the future.

What do you think, Lakers nation? Is Bryant too high? Too low? Just right? Let us know down below!
