Jeremy Lin Injury Report: Guard out against Golden State

The Lakers injury woes continue. After Jeremy Lin twisted his ankle during practice on Saturday, he has been ruled out for Sunday’s match-up against the Golden State Warriors.

Lin joins a host of Lakers on the injury report. Nick Young is out for the longest period with his sprained thumb, while Jordan Clarkson, Ryan Kelly, and Xavier Henry are all nursing minor injuries that will keep them out for a short time frame.

The time frame for Lin’s injury is undetermined yet, but it is not expected to be a long-term recover, obviously. This is on the heels of Lin’s start against the Warriors on Thursday, where he finished with 14 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds and looked far better offensively then the first game of the season where he managed just one point.

Steve Nash will start in Lin’s place tonight and Ronnie Price will likely see a large chunk of play time with both Lin and Clarkson out. With Nash’s healthy already a guaranteed uncertainty, the Lakers will need both Lin and Clarkson at full strength going into the season.

Depending on how the rest of the preseason plays out, Lin could find himself in the starting line-up. He looked far more comfortable as a starter vs. a reserve, but in an admittedly short sample size. With two weeks still until the start of the season, there is still many things that can play out.
