Game Grades: Lakers Rally Against Dwight-less Rockets

MVP: Nick Young. I mean, Swaggy P has to be the MVP right? We’re 2-0 in the Swaggy P era. But seriously, his energy has lifted this team. His scoring off the bench has provided the Lakers offense without Bryant, and when the two are on the floor together, the spacing is massively better.

LVP: Jeremy Lin. 30 minutes, 3 points, 5 turnovers. I realize he was going against Patrick Beverley, a great defender, but tonight was another case of hot and cold Lin. Hopefully bringing in a young point guard will push Lin to improve his play instead of continuing his stagnant play.

Stat of the Night: 47-38. The rebounding figures, which the Lakers won, on a night when Dwight Howard was out with a knee injury. Most impressively, three Lakers finished with double digit rebounds with Carlos Boozer, Ed Davis, and Jordan Hill finishing with 13, 11, and 10 boards respectively.
