Lakers News: Training Camp Returning To Hawaii

The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had much to celebrate as of late. They are an abysmal 12-33 and Kobe Bryant is out for the rest of the season. The Lakers won’t be doing much winning for the rest of the year and some wonder whether they should tank for better draft positioning.

Today, the Lakers finally received some positive news. The team will be returning to paradise for their training camp before the season. The Lakers sent out a press release confirming their return to Hawaii starting next season:

"“Hawaii has been like a second home to the Lakers since my father first took the team there in 1988,” said Buss. “The love and support we’ve always received from the people in Hawaii has meant so much to us over the years, and we’re thrilled to be returning there next fall and seeing so many of our loyal fans.”"

The last time the Lakers were in Hawaii was in 2007, only Kobe Bryant has experience training camp on the island. The team has gone to Hawaii for training camp 12 times and Dr. Buss started it all in 1988.

All those years spent in Hawaii have created a loyal fan base and they must be ecstatic to have the Lakers back. Unfortunately, the Lakers haven’t been very good as of late. Maybe the change of scenery will bring positive change, because nothing has been working for this team.

Hopefully the Lakers are able to attract some free agents this summer and pitching them a training camp in Hawaii should help, because the Lakers need all the help they can get.
