The Lakers have been synonymous with injuries these last few season and this year was no different. It started with Steve Nash in the pre-season, his back did not allow him to play this year. Then, heralded rookie Julius Randle broke his leg in the first game of the season and he won’t be back until next season. Xavier Henry ruptured his left Achilles tendon and Kobe Bryant tore his rotator cuff, both of them are out for the season. Can it get any worse?

Yes it can. Jordan Hill has been diagnosed with a strained hip muscle and according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, he will likely be out for at least two weeks:

Hill has been the heart and soul of this team. He does all the dirty work other player don’t like to do and the Lakers will miss him dearly. Luckily, with the All-Star break coming up, Hill should be ready to return to action after the festivities are over. The NBA is also giving teams a couple of extra days after Sunday’s All-Star game in New York. Teams will have an additional three days to rest and recover from the first half of the season.

The Lakers don’t play until Friday, February 20th. If everything goes as scheduled, Hill should be able to suit up for this game. The NBA trade deadline is on February 19th, so it’s possible the Lakers could ship Hill before he’s able to don the purple and gold again. Nevertheless, the Lakers will welcome Hill back with open arms.
