NBA Trade Deadline: Lakers Make No Moves

The NBA trade deadline is one of the most exciting times of the year. You never know what is going to happen and you usually rely on Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo to drop some Woj bombs when it’s least expected. Twitter was invented for situations like these and today was proof of that.

The Lakers were rumored to be involved in several deals prior to the trade deadline. Wether it was attempting to acquire Goran Dragic or Reggie Jackson, many Laker fans were hoping Mitch Kupchak would be active to improve this team. Jordan Hill, Jeremy Lin and several other Lakers were also rumored to be potential trade-able assets and some were optimistic the Lakers could garner some more picks.

The trade deadline came and went and the Lakers did not do a single thing. After all the rumors and speculation, the Lakers opted to stand pat, but the rest of the NBA exploded in the final 10 to 15 minutes before the trade deadline expired.

Marc Stein of ESPN and Woj from Yahoo were really busy today and it’s likely they have to buy a new phone after everything that went down in the final minutes of the deadline. Here’s some of the moves that were made, which was reported first by Woj or Stein:

Three potential Laker targets were gone in a matter of minutes, each of them going to an Eastern Conference team. The Lakers can still pursue Jackson and Dragic in free agency, but their respective teams have their bird rights, giving them an advantage this off-season.

That was only the beginning, the Suns and Sixers were very active and it seemed like most players were involved were point guards. The Lakers needed one, but they couldn’t make anything happen.

Do you agree with the Lakers lack of activity at the trade deadline? Or do you think they should have been more active?
