Jeremy Lin: 25 Point Laker Highlight Reel (video)

Jeremy Lin has exploded since the All-Star break.

Laker fans at this point have opted for #teamtank.  The hope is to build the franchise with a lottery pick this upcoming summer.  On the other hand, Jeremy Lin, wants to win.

More from Lake Show Life

His first game back was a loss to the Portland Trailblazers, but he came out with a solid performance to the tune of 18 points on 6 of 9 shooting from the field in just over 24 minutes of play. When Boston stepped into town, he had a little bit more to give.

The Lakers had led most of the game, only to squander a five point lead with less than a minute to go.  The game went into overtime, and Jeremy Lin played well consistently throughout the entire game.

What was the difference?  It wasn’t just aggressive play.  It was the timing of the aggression.  He attacked the basket relentlessly, but each time, a Celtic player was caught on their heels. He drew fouls on the defense and had his prayers answered.  He took jumpshots behind screens with absolute confidence.

He looked like, well, Linsanity.

It has taken over half of the season, but there is a certain poise and comfort to his recent play.  He’s not overthinking within the offensive set.  He understands that his job is to find ways to score, not just go out of his way to get teammates involved.

Sure, there is the added incentive of his contract expiring this summer.  He is making a case for solid basketball play with his abilities.  The quickness is still there. He has great touch from the perimeter.  He’s excellent at getting points in the paint on his drives. Most importantly, he’s always willing to find the open man.

This season may be worse compared to last year, but guys like Lin give Laker fans a reason to cheer.
