The Lakers took their talents to South Beach in hopes of winning another game on the road. They were close, but no cigar. Once again the Lakers had an opportunity to get the win down the stretch, but Hassan Whiteside proved to be too much and the Lakers lost 100-94.

Both the Lakers and Heat have losing records, but the Heat are fortunate to be in the East where a losing record can still land you in the playoffs. Both teams have been hit with injuries this season, so they can relate to one another.

After the game, Dwyane Wade spoke about Kobe Bryant. According to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News, Wade believes Kobe will be able to come back from yet another season ending injury:

"“Sometimes you get lucky. But you have to find ways to get yourself back on the basketball court and work your tail off. Obviously, Kobe is that guy. I’m that guy,” Wade said. “Your game changes and your body changes. But you have to find ways to be effective. Kobe has found ways to be effective and stay for so many years in the league. So never count him out.”"

Wade has had his experience with injuries throughout his career, so he’s not stranger to rehab. Wade understands that with age, a player must adapt and try to dominate a different way, which is what Kobe has done throughout his career.

Bryant is entering the final chapter of his career and after his shoulder injury, this could be the last time Bryant goes through a grueling rehab. Like Wade said, if there is anybody that can do this one more time, it’s Bryant.

With one year remaining in his contract, Bryant hasn’t officially announced his retirement, but after 19 years, next year might be the last we see of the Black Mamba. Let’s hope he’s able to stay healthy.
