While going up for a layup, Carroll’s knee buckled late in the fourth. Luckily for him, there were no structural damage; the Hawks hope to have their three guard back in the lineup.

This was not only good news for the Hawks, but for Carroll’s financial future as well. He is due big money this off-season and the Lakers could be a team that is interested in his services. According to Sean Deveney of the Sporting News, the Lakers are very interested in getting Carroll to come to LA:

"With his defense and versatility, one league exec estimated his next deal at more than $15 million per year. The Lakers, a source said, have big-time interest in Carroll."

Carroll was the only member of the Hawks lineup who didn’t make the Eastern Conference All Star roster but proved to be one of the most crucial pieces. Carroll could be a vital piece to the Lakers’ puzzle and a realistic target this off-season.

Carroll is the type of player you want on your team. He does the dirty work, defends well, and is a decent shooter. Playing in 70 games, Carroll contributed 12.6 points, 1.7 assist, and 5.3 rebounds per game.

With some amazing luck, the Lakers were able to draw the second overall pick in the 2015 Draft, guaranteeing a chance at a big man. However, they will need some help at the perimeter and Carroll would be an upgrade a the small forward position.
