The Lakers were expecting Julius Randle to become a force down low in the paint last season. Unfortunately, the former Kentucky Wildcat broke his leg in the season opener and was forced to miss the rest of the season.

The Lakers are eager to see what Randle will have in store this upcoming season. He will likely get his first taste of competitive basketball at the Las Vegas Summer league where the Lakers will have one of the best teams with Jordan Clarkson and this year’s number two pick on the roster.

Mitch Kupchak was a guest on NBA Sunday Tip and revealed to Ethan J. Skolnick that it looks like Randle has made a full recovery:

Randle was the seventh overall pick, so the Lakers are hopeful he will be an impact player once he steps foot on the court. However, their first priority is making sure Randle is fully recovered so that it does not happen again.

The combination of Randle and what many believe will be another big man should be an exciting thought for Laker fans. If they develop correctly, this front court could be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

Last year was painful to watch, but now the future looks bright.
