Move over Lakers, the Warriors have plans to steal Kevin Durant from right out under you

Stephen A. Smith and Colin Cowherd rumors are one thing, but when Adrian Wojnarowski speaks, everyone stops what they’re doing and listens.

Tuesday morning, Woj dropped a bomb on Lakers fans everywhere as revealed that the Golden State Warriors had emerged as a “serious threat to sign Kevin Durant.”

Per Yahoo Sports, Woj revealed,

"The truth is that they’re the most intriguing destination to him. If Durant leaves the Thunder, the Warriors are the significant frontrunners to sign him, league sources told The Vertical."

However, he explained,

"Make no mistake: Durant isn’t close to gone in Oklahoma City – no decision, no leaning, sources said – but the real threats on the summer market are beginning to reveal themselves. Durant is determined to win – to be an immediate championship contender at 27 years old – and that keeps bringing him back to the Warriors should he make the decision to leave Oklahoma City."

He also debunks Smith’s rumor saying that the Lakers have, “little, if any, chance.”

While the Warriors current cap situation is in question, were they to make the necessary moves, why wouldn’t KD want to play there?

What a change of pace that would be, moving from a team dominated by players who love individual stats, to a team who, for the most part, are devoted solely to winning games.

A Stephen Curry-Kevin Durant pairing is scary to think about and while every rumor should be taken with a grain of salt at this point, Woj’s track record is impossible to ignore.
