TNT’s Inside the NBA is reportedly trying to bring Lakers legend Kobe Bryant into the studio

Several days removed from the final game of Kobe Bryant‘s illustrious NBA career and Los Angeles Lakers fans are still rightfully basking in one of the most incredible moments in the history of the league. The 60 points, the one final comeback victory, and the one last look at the Black Mamba all remain fresh in the minds of ans.

However, it’s time for Kobe Bryant to be moving on to the next stage of his life and his professional career. The question all season, though, has been what’s going to be next for Bryant. Sure, he wants to tell stories with the newly founded Kobe Inc., but there has to be more on the table for him to occupy his time now that he’s done playing in the NBA. Apparently Turner Sports wants that something to be him reuniting with Shaquille O’Neal—this time behind a desk.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, Turner Sports has begun courting Kobe Bryant in hopes to get him to join their Inside the NBA telecast alongside Shaq, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, and Ernie Johnson. Not only that, but Shaq and Kenny have been pushing for quite some time publicly to try and get Kobe to join them in the Turner studios covering the league.

Given what Bryant has said throughout the majority of his final NBA season, it seems somewhat unlikely that he’d go behind a desk immediately. However, if Kobe Bryant were to go work with the media in some capacity, doing so with a studio show like Inside the NBA that airs relatively infrequently and is unique in their type of content seems like the most likely destination.

It will be some time (or it’s likely it will be) before anything comes of this either way as Kobe Bryant is less than a week removed from his playing career and because, well, he’s a stubborn individual that will take quite a bit of convincing and courtship. However, Lakers fans may not have to live without Kobe for too long if he ultimately does end up on TV and working with the Inside the NBA crew.
