The Lakers took Brandon Ingram with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, but how does the pick grade out

If we’re handing out a grade for the surprise factor from the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2016 NBA Draft, they would undoubtedly get an F. Everyone’s known for quite a while that they were going to take Brandon Ingram out of Duke and that notion only seemed to get confirmed time and again from that point on.

And that’s exactly what they did with their pick on Thursday night at the Barclays Center.

It’s not hard to imagine why Ingram is going as high as he is in the 2016 NBA Draft. He has tremendous size and even greater length for a guy who’s only 18 years old. Moreover, he’s also a player that has shown that he has huge amounts of athleticism and skill for a player who’s that young.

While it may be easy to see why he went with the No. 2 overall pick, though, it may be a little bit different in terms of how he fits with the Lakers. Given all of this, let’s take a look at how this pick grades out and see if the Lakers get top marks for getting Ingram with the No. 2 pick.
