Russell Westbrook continues to torment Lakers’ fans, this time showing up to Dodgers’ Stadium rocking Dodgers’ gear

Upon signing a three year extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Lakers’ related Russell Westbrook conversations quickly shifted from arguments about why the team should/shouldn’t trade for him to rationale about why the team is better off without him or pipe dreams about LA landing him in three years time.

As an avid Westbrook fan, in the back of my mind, I was a bit disappointed, but reality quickly kicked in when I once again realized what the future of this young core could hold going forward.

However now, just a few days before Lakers’ Night at Dodgers’ Stadium, Russell Westbrook seemed to channel his best Enes Kanter impression, further tormenting fans.

If signing a three-year extension with the Thunder weren’t enough, Russ added insult to injury by attending Saturday’s Dodger game against the Boston Red Sox sporting a Dodgers’ hat with what looks to be a shirt in the Lakers’ font, that reads “The End.”

Sure, Los Angeles is Russ’ hometown but the timing of it all makes it seem less coincidental than otherwise. Only having the picture above for reference, it’s safe to assume that the LA faithful showered him with boos when he was put on the jumbotron.

Using history as a guide, this subtle jab should come as no surprise as Russell Westbrook has reportedly denied multiple offers from Lakers’ fans to come to LA in hilarious fashion.

Though some are under the impression that the move also increases Westbrook’s trade value, were things to “go south” at some point next year, for now it appears that the Lakers’ will just have to stay the course and rebuild from within, which isn’t a bad option by any means.

That said, the prospect of having a talent like Russell Westbrook slip through your fingertips is something the franchise will definitely keep close in mind, especially depending on what Westbrook does next season as a solo act.
