Watch all 130 of D’Angelo Russell’s record-breaking made threes from his rookie season with the Lakers

Despite experience several trying periods of time throughout his rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers, D’Angelo Russell put together a nice year. He finished the year among statistical leaders in numerous categories among rookies. Russell also made a handful of iconic moments for his early career. However, the season as a whole wound up being record-breaking too.

Over the course of his rookie year, the point guard out of Ohio State converted on 130 three-point attempts. That number was good enough to give the enigmatic youngster a Lakers record for threes made in a season by a rookie, surpassing Nick Van Exel‘s mark.

Russell converted on 35.1 percent of his threes last season as a rookie. While that’s a solid mark, the Lakers would love to see him take steps forward. However, there’s no reason to believe that he won’t be able to. When you look at his stroke and the shots he’s capable of making, all he truly needs is just more in-game experience to take strides forward with his perimeter shooting and every other area.

But for now, as it is the doldrums of the offseason, sit back and watch his stroke on repeat to watch all 130 of his made threes as a rookie:

There’s no question that the majority of those shots are enjoyable to watch. However, you do have to optimistically wonder if it’s going to be even more fun and prolific coming into the 2016-17 season. After all, Russell will be playing in a Luke Walton system, one that you’d expect emphasizes the value of the long-ball. Subsequently, Russell could be filling it up even more so from deep next season.
