The young Lakers are ramping up their workouts heading into training camp

For 20 years the Los Angeles Lakers were blessed with a player who did his best to encapsulate the definition of hard work. The stories attesting to his insane work ethic aren’t hard to find with even minimal amounts of effort.

From tales of him playing Derek Fisher full court games of one-on-one their rookie season into the early hours of the morning to recollections of a 40-mile bike ride the night before the opening of USA Basketball camp, when you think of hard work in regards to sports, it is difficult not to picture Kobe Bryant.

With that being said, it appears that the organization has nothing to worry about in that category going forward.

The Lakers have been posting workout clips of their players all summer long and the crowd in the weight room is growing by the day.

In their latest video you can see Tarik Black, Larry Nance Jr. Julius Randle, D’Angelo Russell, Ivica Zubac, Brandon Ingram AND Jordan Clarkson all putting in work at the same time. Seeing how the the players have been training individually this summer, this can only help bolster their chemistry moving forward.

It appears that the only young member missing is Anthony Brown, but 7-out-8 is nothing to complain about.

One thing that is great to see is that trainer Tim DiFrancesco is doing his best to train all aspects, especially the ones he sees as the player’s weakness. For example, seeing Julius Randle training legs is a great sign. Ivica Zubac and Brandon Ingram working all around strength, even better.

The saying goes, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard,” but this obviously isn’t an issue for the Lakers’ young core.

While it would have been great for Brandon Ingram to get a year under his belt alongside Kobe Bryant, the fact that his teammates are carrying on his legacy is encouraging to see.
