For the second consecutive game, the Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Denver Nuggets this time at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, California

Simply by watching the Lakers’ first two preseason contests, one thing is immediately clear: the team is leaps and bounds more fun to watch than last season, even in their losses.

Every game represents a different story line to follow, which is only suiting considering the Purple and Gold’s Hollywood roots.

For the first two games, the question at hand was when Brandon Ingram would get his first professional bucket? Who Luke Walton would start at the small forward? And if the team would be able to build on what appeared from all reports to be a strong training camp in Santa Barbara?

With all of those questions answered as well as they could be through two exhibition games, the plot now turns to if the team can get revenge on the Denver Nuggets who beat them 101-97 just two nights prior.

In terms of the starting lineup, Coach Walton seems fully content with bringing Brandon Ingram and Jordan Clarkson off the bench to provide a spark, and based on the results, it is difficult to argue with his logic.

In their first two appearances, the bench mob, consisting of Jose Calderon/Marcelo Huertas, Clarkson, Ingram, Larry Nance Jr and Tarik Black have brought instant energy on the defensive end leading to easy fast break buckets. More over, this unit has been far more impressive than the starting lineup.

Constantly moving the ball in the half court, the starters would be wise to take note, though the lack of movement could be accounted to their unfamiliarity with the offense and each other, more than their shortcomings as individual players.

Sunday represents yet another opportunity to build a solid foundation for what fans hope will be a long and prosperous journey back to the top.
