The Los Angeles Lakers were one of the winners of the 2017 NBA Draft.

The Los Angeles Lakers were very active during the 2017 NBA Draft. They made a flurry of moves prior to the draft and on draft night. Los Angeles ended up making four selections, filling needs with each pick.

The Lakers were not the only team that made moves on draft night. There were a number of deals made, including superstar Jimmy Butler being traded by the Chicago Bulls to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Utah Jazz also made multiple trades, as 10 total trades were made during the 2017 NBA Draft.

The 2017 NBA Draft was also a record-setting night. There were a record seven freshmen selected to begin the draft. Frank Ntilikina was selected 8th overall and is only 18 years old. His selection was followed by two more freshmen, so it was not until the Detroit Pistons selected 12th that a freshman wasn’t selected.

In total, there were 17 freshmen selected in the first round, making this the youngest draft in NBA history. Some teams will have to wait longer than others for their selections to pan out, but there is no denying that this was a very deep draft. There were some very good prospects that even went undrafted, which spoke to the talent poor this year.

Many mock drafts were pretty spot on, as teams landed the players they wanted to. Even with the talented draft class, some teams stood above the rest. Check out our slideshow of the five biggest winners from the 2017 NBA Draft.
