Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball had his most impressive game of the Las Vegas Summer League in a win against the Philadelphia 76ers, only he wasn’t wearing the Zo2s; he was wearing the Nike Kobe A.D.

After sitting out a game to the Sacramento Kings due to a groin injury, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball followed up his 11/11/11 triple-double with a high-scoring double-double against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ball led the Lakers to an impressive 103-102 win over Philadelphia with 36 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, five steals and two blocks.

Ball started the game off the best way he knows how which consisted of getting his teammates involved. He connected with Kyle Kuzma on back-to-back dimes that highlight his gifted passing and how easy he makes the game for his teammates.

But despite Ball’s efforts distributing the ball, the Lakers found themselves trailing significantly at halftime. That’s when Ball took over.

Ball became aggressive offensively and went off for 28 points in the second half hitting a few three-pointers in rhythm and finishing around the rim. Overall, Ball ended the night on 54.5 percent shooting from the field.

But what led to this sudden spark of aggressiveness and efficiency, Twitter seems to think it was the Kobe A.D.s Ball was wearing in place of his own shoe the Zo2s.

Numerous people, including media members, credited Kobe’s shoe for Lonzo’s breakout game. Even LeBron James got in on the fun.

When asked about his shoe change, Ball himself simply said “Mamba mentality” and later added that at Big Baller Brand he can wear whatever he wants.

"Just you know at triple B you can wear whatever you want, so I already played both my shoes so I might as well get the Mamba mentality going."

Although Twitter is using Lonzo’s big game as a way to take shots at the Big Baller Brand, Ball has already proven that his elite passing comes with him no matter what footwear he has on. Considering he will wear the Zo2s more than not, we can expect a game like this from him in his signature shoe sooner than later. But until he has a game like he did against Philly in the Zo2s, fans will continue to credit the Kobe’s for his incredible performance.
