Most of the issues the Los Angeles Lakers faced last season was based around the seeming 1,743 Lakers rumors surrounding the proposed trade requests surrounding Anthony Davis. It is widely believed that the Lakers season was derailed and the entire situation caused drama not only to the two franchises but to the NBA as well.

It seemed everyone was to blame in this scenario. LeBron James and Rich Paul were blamed for ruining the chemistry of the locker room. Magic Johnson was being ridiculed for a combination of offers for Anthony Davis. Dell Demps was blamed for not taking it.

Then Jeanie Buss reportedly called all of the reports “fake news”. Boy, that did not go over well with all of the major sports networks, starting with ESPN.

How about those reports that Ms. Buss was so angry that she considered trading LeBron James just to get rid of all the drama? Since then the rumors about James being traded have gone from the ridiculous to the sublime.

Since it was so much fun for all parties involved, let’s do it all again, shall we? When the Los Angeles Lakers fell into good graces and luck grabbing the No. 4 pick in the draft, some Lakers fans started making up potential deals for Anthony Davis.

Then the Pelicans got luckier and got the No. 1 pick in the draft and presumably the rights to Zion Williamson.

Now the game is still the same but the Celtics are not the Lakers biggest threat. Now it happens to be the Knicks, according to Brian Windhorst.

Now there have been major changes since February. Since the trade saga ended before, Dell Demps got fired literally the night before the All-Star break. Now David Griffin is in charge with his recent hire Trajan Langdon as GM.

Magic Johnson has made it clear to anyone that even casually follows the Lakers that he is over being the President of Basketball Operations. First, he burned bridges by resigning his position without telling anybody.

Then he salted the earth where the bridges used to be on First Take. Now the Lakers did the opposite of the Pelicans and stayed status quo and turned all the power over to Rob Pelinka, the guy that Magic called a “backstabber”.

The Los Angeles Lakers fans who have come to the site are tired of hearing reports and rumors that change almost daily it seems.  After a while, I’ll admit it can get just as irritating as hearing the same old, same old.

So why not take a gander at what is going on in the Pelicans’ world! I mean, the other Lakers websites and blogs can give you what the Lakers can offer. But can they give you insight on what the Pelicans are looking for?

I called out to an old friend of mine, David Grubb, who could help share the view on the New Orleans side of the second round of negotiations.

In 2013, he joined the team at SportsNOLA.com as a contributor before working his way up to cover the New Orleans Pelicans.

David is currently a featured columnist for CrescentCitySports.com as well as The Bird Writes for SB Nation. He is a regular contributor to “The Bird Calls,” a weekly podcast covering the Pelicans.

Along with being a regular on Sports 1280 AM in New Orleans, he has also been a fill-in host for “The D-League” (Sports 1280 AM) and “Sport-a-facts” (WBOK) and is a regular guest on a number of sports talk shows in the New Orleans area.

In short, if there is anyone that would have insight on what is going on behind the propaganda and false rumors, David Grubb is the man.

I asked him a few questions on what is the atmosphere going on down in New Orleans.
