2010 NBA Finals – Game 5: Kobe Needs To Ask For Some Help

AUTHOR: coachNick | IN: Finals, Lakers | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Lakers lack the cohesion of a team that the Celtics have – from running their offense, to getting amazing defensive plays, the Celtics have continually hurt the Lakers with the intagibles: heart and desire (Eye of the Tiger). Winning 2 in a row generally spells doom for the other team, but can the Celtics put it together to get a win at Staples?

Game 4: Pau and Odom Let Kobe Down

AUTHOR: coachNick | IN: Lakers, Playoffs | COMMENTS: None Yet

The biggest issue I see is passion and desire. The Celtics have a lot more of it than the Lakers – and with the refs keeping everybody off balance, those intamgibles will be crucial. Bynum may not play and will certainly not be at full strength if he does, so the Lakers will need a supreme effort 1-12 to steal Game 5 from Boston.

AUTHOR: coachNick | IN: Lakers, Playoffs | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

They key to this series rests on who is going to be tougher, who is going to get down and dirty, and who’s willing to do whatever it takes to win. Kobe and Pau Gasol have gained a leg up on the big 3 and Rajon Rondo. But this series is far from over.

Adam Morrison: Lakers’ Sub His Own Worst Enemy

AUTHOR: Mike Emmons | IN: Lakers, NBA | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

After being the 3rd overall pick in the 2006 draft and being labeled the next Larry Bird, Adam Morrison has been somewhat of a lackluster in the NBA. I say, maybe he doesn’t deserve all the rotten tomatoes being thrown at him. Morrison has yet to transform into an outstanding player and there is more to him that meets the eye! (I saw Transformers revenge of the fallen last weekend and now I’m stuck in autobot mode, my apologies.)
When Morrison came to play for the Bucks after the draft he averaged a mere but steady 11.8 points a game, but [...]

Shannon Brown Stays in Town

AUTHOR: Chris Shellcroft | IN: Free Agency, Lakers | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Lakers have reached an agreement with Shannon Brown keeping the athletic combo guard in L.A. for two more years.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the deal is worth $4.2 million with a player option for the second year.
Brown worked his way into Phil Jackson’s rotation after coming to L.A. mid-season as a throw-in for a trade invloving Vladimir Radmanovic and Adam Morrison. Jackson, who prefers bigger guards with a defensive commitment, felt comfortable giving Brown minutes as he quickly took to learning the triangle offense. Laker fans grew fond of the former Michigan State Spartan as she showed flashes of athletic brilliance and [...]

PPG: Lakers Ground Hawks

AUTHOR: kareemabduladam | IN: Lakers, Purple Post Game | COMMENTS: None Yet

Just got back from vacation, and with me getting back to blogging it’s nice to see the Lakers resume their winning ways as well. While the rest of the teams are talking trades and L.A.’s other team is punching people, the Lake Show just does its thing.
The big thing that I took away from this game is that even without a scoring eruption from any one player, the Lakers can still win. Lamar Odom led the six scorers in double figures with 15, but his 20 rips were what really impressed me. Pau Gasol’s triple-double probably was the most impressive [...]
