Let’s keep this short and sweet. Since Ron Artest has already taken Doc Rivers to task on Twitter, there really is no need to continue to beat this dead horse. However, it bears discussing just how ignorant Doc is for his assessment of the defeat the Lake Show handed to his C’s in the Finals.
Doc thinks that the Lakers wouldn’t have won if Kendrick Perkins was healthy. I’m pretty sure Phil Jackson could have said the same thing about the Celtics back in ’08 when Andrew Bynum was injured. Notice you don’t hear PJ making excuses since Bynum wasn’t at [...]

Doc Rivers Doesn’t Get It
Once again, Andrew Bynum’s knee has fought the knife and the knee won.
L.A. Times beat writer Broderick Turner reports that all went well with the repair of Drew’s right meniscus.
Up next for Bynum will be 6 to 8 weeks of rehab. Being that the Lake Show is getting an early start on the preseason thanks to stops in England and Spain, Drew will be a bit of a long shot for the Euro Trip.
Here’s hoping that after two knee surgeries in three years, we’ll finally get a full dose of the Altered Beast for the run at another three-peat. Knee [...]
So, Chris Paul wants to be a Laker. Well good for him, who doesn’t? Apparently fed up with being a one man show in the N.O., Paul has requested to be traded. Among the teams he’s willing to take his services to are the Magic, Hornets, Cavs, Knicks, Blazers and the two-time defending world champion Los Angeles Lakers.
Of course there is the little matter of what it would take to get Paul and his $34-million contract into a Purple and Gold uniform.
It would take a snow storm in hell before GM Mitch would even consider moving Kobe Bryant or Pau [...]
For the second time in three years, Andrew Bynum will go under the knife. The two time world champion center for the Los Angeles Lakers has set July 28th – one week from today – for his latest procedure.
After playing through most of the postseason with torn cartilage in his right knee, Bynum showed both his coaches and fans alike that he’s maturing well beyond his 22 years. On three separate occasions, Bynum had his knee drained including twice during the NBA Finals.
While Drew is expected to make a full recovery in time for camp, Lakers PR Director John Black [...]
Looking at the 4th quarter, it’s clear that the Lakers executed the championship plays while the Celtics committed too many mental mistakes. When it comes down to it, that’s what makes a champion – the attention to detail and ability to adjust.
We delve into the first three quarters of Game 7 between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe Bryant looked horrible while Kevin Garnett really hurt the Lakers on the block. This is all a prelude to our second part – the fourth quarter – coming soon!
We’ve made some interesting discoveries about how Kobe scores his points. Both Phil Jackson and Doc Rivers would be wise to watch this and adjust their game plans accordingly. Oh – and the key to Game 7? Do The Hustle…
The Lakers rediscovered their inner animal (Eye of the Tiger) and imposed their will from the outset. The Celtics must’ve been looking forward to Game 7 – or their bodies couldn’t overcome the cross country flight. Either way, it was over quick.
By going away from what got them there, the Lakers are dangerously close to losing this series. Tough defense, the triangle offense, and trust in their teammates are all noticeably absent in Game 5. Can they straighten themselves out in LA? Will the Staples Center crowd help them find their identity?
The Lakers lack the cohesion of a team that the Celtics have – from running their offense, to getting amazing defensive plays, the Celtics have continually hurt the Lakers with the intagibles: heart and desire (Eye of the Tiger). Winning 2 in a row generally spells doom for the other team, but can the Celtics put it together to get a win at Staples?
