We all know that Anthony Carter’s inbound pass that was intercepted by Trevor Ariza was a major factor in the Nugget’s loss to the Lakers in game one of the Western Conference Finals. We all know that except for one person: Anthony Carter.
“That’s not what lost the game,” he said in response to a reporter asking him about the play.
A 10-year veteran of the NBA, Carter should know better. Even if you honstely feel your mistake wouldn’t have changed things, you can’t pass the blame like that. Accept your part in the loss, and move on. “We live to play another day.”
And so, with his denial of any blame, I’m now going to place all of the blame on Anthony Carter’s shoulders for the game 1 win. Way to go, Anthony, we couldn’t have done it without you. Your lack of skill and poor decision making led to a loss in what could have otherwise been a momentous victory for your team. This could surely be the reason the Nuggets lose this series where they otherwise were a real contender at the NBA title.
Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating a little here. But seriously, Anthony, you messed up- at least share the blame. The Lakers didn’t exactly dominate- your Nuggets simply lost it.
