Cross NBA Games Off Your Christmas Wish List

If all you wanted for Christmas was to see some great NBA action then I’d suggest revising your request sent to Santa. David Stern has offered yet another impossible deadline as Tuesday’s mediation session has become the new drop dead date for Christmas Day games.

Looks like us Laker faithful aren’t going to be treated to another lackluster showing by the Purple and Gold on Christmas. Humbug!

Stern’s latest ultimatum is the most laughable by far. As if one mediation session will magically close the Valles Marineris sized gap between the union and owners.

Good luck with that one.

Thus far Stern has been keeping to his word with these self-imposed deadlines. The next question is just when will the deadline for calling off the season all together be imposed?

It would appear as if the ultimate drop dead date is looming.

Most anticipated a lengthy lockout but nothing to this extent. The surprise isn’t as much related to the length of time but in the amount of wasted time. So far more progress has been made in Middle Eastern peace talks than has in NBA negotiating.

I can understand why Stern would want to apply pressure but all these deadlines do is further frustrate an already dire situation.

Oh well…looks like it will be an NBA-less Christmas.
