Derek Fisher Among NBA Stars in Obama Classic

Being that the owners and players can’t do anything to get NBA players back on the court the president himself is stepping in. Not the president of the players association. Though Derek Fisher is going to be playing for the president.

No, we’re talking about the president. As in U.S. President Barack Obama.

D-Fish is putting aside the suit for one night in December as he’ll join Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, L.A. native Tyson Chandler, Amar’e Stoudemire and Cheryl Miller among others to participate in the one of most unique political fundraisers you’ll see. We’re talking about the Obama Classic, an event geared towards raising funds for the president’s reelection efforts and to give hoops junkies a much needed fix.

If you want a ticket for the event then be prepared to pay $200 just to get in the door. Come to think of it that isn’t too far away from what you’d pay for a Laker ticket.

If you want to see some NBA hoops then maybe you can plead your case for President Obama to step in. Hey, if my man has time to ask NBA players to help him raise coin then he can make a cameo in the next negotiation session…whenever that may be.  Something tells me David Stern would treat Obama like he does his players though. Not saying Obama sides with the players just saying Stern hates not being the biggest personality in the room.

So if you’re like me and you’re a fiend for NBA hoops then maybe you can get to the Obama Classic on December 12th. I have no plans on being there, yet. That could all change if Executioner Stern takes an axe to the season in the coming weeks.
