Will they stay or will they go?

Meeks may have been underwhelming to some last year, but he was still a productive player. He struggled shooting from the field, but was asked to do a lot more offensively and defensively. Nevertheless, the Lakers still can use Meeks this year, especially if Bryant doesn’t come back right away. Meeks and Young together will provide more scoring than the Lakers had at any point off the bench last year.
Meeks certainly has to improve his play from last season. If he does, then he could be in for a nice payday, which may put him out of the Lakers price range. A lot of what happens with Meeks and the Lakers will depend on what happens with Young. I do think Young stays with the Lakers, which will leave Meeks in a bit of an “odd man out” situation.
VERDICT: Jodie Meeks will not be a Laker in 2014-15
