Tracy McGrady calls Kobe Bryant his hardest opponent

At Kobe Bryant’s recent special event “Kobe Up Close,” he referred to Tracy McGrady as one of the hardest players he’s ever had to guard. Not LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson. T-Mac, the once great perimeter player whose career was cut short by injuries, topped Bryant’s list.

On Thursday, thanks to TMZ (a sentence I wish to never utter again), we have T-Mac’s response. McGrady was asked for his take on the hardest guy for him to face, to which he said…

"It’s Kobe, all day. I didn’t play against Michael [Jordan] in his prime. Absolutely [it’s Kobe], ain’t nobody close."

When looking at the list of player’s T-Mac’s squared up against, seeing Kobe near the top isn’t too much of a stretch. But McGrady has went toe-to-toe with Jordan, Iverson, James, Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, and many other talented perimeter players. To say Bryant tops the list is quite a compliment to the Black Mamba.
