5 Reactions From The Lakers Weekend Performance

5. Chris Kaman will fit perfectly into the Lakers offense
I, like many other Lakers fans, was confused when the Lakers used their mini mid-level exception on Chris Kaman instead of finding someone who filled a more pressing need. On top of that, Kaman never seemed like someone who could fit in a D’Antoni offense, leaving everyone puzzled. But on Saturday, Kaman surprised me with his offensive game. He knocked down numerous outside shots, played the high post position perfectly, and finished with a double-double in his Lakers debut. In just 21 minutes, he had 10 points, grabbed 10 boards, and dished out 4 assists.
With the prospect of Gasol and Kaman starting together, many Lakers fans were concerned with how well they’d fit together. But with more similar play style that we first realized, these two could really mesh together. With versatile offensive games, either could play the low-post or high-post, this Lakers offense could be very dynamic. We’ll find out a lot more Tuesday when Kaman will likely play with both Gasol and Nash and we’ll find out just how well they mesh together.
